The word Itza-Yana means a gift from the gods in Mayan language, and we chose this name for our sacred ceremonies to pay homage to the healing plants that take part in the retreat, as we sit by the fire and connect with the ancient spirit of the black jaguar.

At the Tulum Wellness Sanctuary, we prioritize intimacy with medicine work to create a deeply transformative experience for our guests. Our small ceremony space, limited to seven guests or less, allows for a more personalized approach that focuses on each individual's unique process.

We believe in holding a safe and stable nest for your journey with plant medicine. Our approach is similar to the plants we serve - gentle, nurturing, and respectful.

Over the course of 5 days, you’ll be presented with educational psychedelic medicine workshops, a purposeful detoxifying diet, and the opportunity to practice and emotional regulations skills, exercises and strategies.

Our team works with skilled coaches and psychotherapists to pair the traditional approach of plant based medicine ceremonies with a modern understanding of the integration process.

The sacred plant medicine ceremonies are led by Amazonian healers who learn, live and study shamanic practices in Colombia and Peru.

During your stay you can expect an all-inclusive and intimate ceremonial experience, including: Treehouse bohemian vibes, a private and secluded Cenote-Lagoon, spa, farm-to-table meals & more!

WHY ARE YOU COMING AND WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION?

Ayahuasca is a sacred medicine that warrants a reverent and humble approach. In the spirit of this sacredness, it is imperative to reflect upon what draws you to work with this revered plant.

Whether it be physical ailment, emotional and mental equilibrium, or a desire for greater connection to the world of plants, each is a profound and worthy motivation for reaching out. It is our experience, however, that those who seek simply to "experience" or "try" ayahuasca may not find themselves well-suited to the medicine's transformative powers. If one's intention is not rooted in deep introspection, the medicine may respond with a similar lack of clarity.

Thus, approaching ayahuasca with a clear and well-reasoned intention is akin to communicating to a teacher what one desires to learn. This provides the teacher with a point of departure and offers the student a frame of reference for the symbolic language that ayahuasca may impart. By doing so, we honor the sacredness of this medicine and pave the way for profound healing and growth.

LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION

Our tree-house is situated between the ocean and a private cenote. The area is tranquile and the ideal setting to let go of what no longer serves you. The closing Ceremonies are held in a jungle temple exclusively used for healing practices.

This is How We Do It:

We consider everything about an individual’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Then, we do an in-depth evaluation of the body type, exercise, diet, lifestyle and habits, as well as the symptoms and chief complaint(s).
Our skilled therapists will take into account any current diagnosis and medications you are on. If you have recent blood work, imaging, or lists of medications and supplements you are taking, please bring it with you to your appointment.
Next, we assess your goals and come up with a holistic health plan to suit your personal needs. It might include Acupuncture and Cupping. The plan may call for Massage, Herbal Tea and Nutritional Recommendations. We might even refer you for Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, and Lab Tests.
